Don’t Fall Down

Legend has it that, dining with Spanish nobles, Columbus was informed that even had he not discovered the New World, another (particularly a Spaniard would have).  Columbus replied by challenging the the assembled nobles would not be able to stand a hard boiled egg on its end without him doing it first.  One by one each man tried and failed.  Finally the egg was returned to Columbus who gently tapped the end of the egg on the table, thus cracking and flattening it a bit.  The egg stood on the flattened end (demonstrating that a thing is easy once you’ve been shown how to do it).

And thus was born the Weeble.
