Happy Birthday Abbie

Posted: October 8, 2009 in Family

My second child is six today.  It seems at one and the same time as if no time and eternity both have passed since this day six years ago.  In this child’s six years of life, she has lived in six different houses and three different towns.  She has come a long way and overcome (for the most part) a Sensory Integration Disorder.

She is my literal engineer (her older sister being the more imaginative and artistic).  Even so, the way her mind works is precious to watch.  She frequently says things which reveals a very unique way of looking at the world.

Happy Birthday Abbie.  I love you, little one.

It is rather surreal at times. It absolutely bakes my noodle that Maggie will be nine in January.

When did I get old enough to have a nine-year-old?
