Today I took the family to the lake. There is something to be said for going to the lake on the day the public school start their fall term. No one was there. We had the whole beach to ourselves.
It was the first time John had ever been (and the first time in Amie’s memory). When he finally saw it (he’d danced around in the sand for a bit just happy to be out of the van) he stopped and had this expression that, to me, said, “This is the biggest puddle I’ve ever see!”
He was happier than a tornado in a trailer park (to quote Mater from the movie Cars).
Unfortunately we do not have any pictures. John has managed to disappear both camera’s memory cards.
